Jennifer Lopez is done with love, at least for now. JLo spoke for the first time since filing for divorce from Ben Affleck in August 2024, saying she is “excited” to be on her own. “Yes, I’m not looking for anybody, because of everything that I’ve done over the past 25, 30 years, being in these different challenging situations, what can I f—ing do when it’s just me flying on my own — What if I’m just free?”

Lopez told Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine that being alone sometimes felt “lonely, unfamiliar, scary,” “sad,” and “desperate,” but she recognized none of those sensations would “kill” her. “It’s as if I can genuinely experience joy and happiness on my own. Being in a relationship does not define me. I cannot look for happiness in others. I need to find happiness within myself. I used to say I’m a happy person, but I was still seeking for something else to fill, and now it’s like, ‘No, I’m genuinely fine.'”
Despite knowing what it would take for her to feel secure in a relationship, the actress-singer-producer stated that “there’s no new bar” to set because she isn’t looking for a love partner. “For romantics who enjoy being in relationships and want to grow old with someone, we believe that ‘I have to have that to be whole and happy.'” And you don’t,” JLo remarked, joking that it only took her 30 years to find it out.

Prior to her two-year marriage to Affleck, Lopez was dating, engaged, and married to several other people. Unfortunately, none have survived. She dated Alex Rodriguez (2017-2021), Casper Smart (2011-2016), Marc Anthony (2004-2011), Ben Affleck (2002-2004), Cris Judd (2001-2002), Diddy (1999-2001), and Ojani Noa (1997-1998).
“The work is to figure oneself out. It’s looking back at the feelings and belief systems we have about ourselves that drive us to make certain decisions and establish particular patterns in our lives.”
