A mother has shared how her ex-husband’s new girlfriend wanted to wear her wedding dress after seeing how beautiful it was in photos. She and her ex K have remained close friends as they share a 5-year-old son. When K met G, she also became good friends with her ex-husband’s new girlfriend.

“Everything seemed to be going great until the other day,” she wrote on Reddit.“G and K have started talking about marriage. I know K is really hesitant, but G really wants to be married and have children on her own,” the mother continued!

“I guess G saw some old pictures of me in my wedding dress and has been raving about how pretty my dress is. The other day we had coffee together and G brought up getting married soon. I told her how happy I was for her.

“Things changed though when she asked if she could wear MY wedding dress.”The woman went on: “I was really amazed she even asked. I immediately told her that I was flattered, but no. She immediately got extremely pouty and started to ask why.

“I explained that I just wasn’t comfortable with her wearing my dress to marry my ex-husband.” G got upset and started ‘causing a scene,’ prompting the mother to leave. She later received a call from her ex asking about what happened. When she explained everything,

he also agreed that it was strange for her new girlfriend to wear his ex-wife’s wedding dress. “While it’s true that I’m not over K, part of me just doesn’t feel comfortable having her wear my dress.”

Reddit users weighed in, with one saying, “I’m in a really similar scenario to you, I have an ex-wife and a five-year-old.” I get along well with her and her new companion. If my partner even asked something like this, I would stop it right away because it would be distressing to my ex and insulting to our past relationship.
