Everyone knows the story about the boy Mowgli, but as life shows, such children actually exist. Today we will tell you about the girl Tippi Degre, who spent her entire childhood among wild animals. The baby was born in 1990 in Namibia to a family of wild animal photographers.
Her parents instilled in her a love and respect for the environment and animals when she was a child. The management of the reserve where the family worked was concerned about infant Tippi’s safety and requested that they leave this territory and provide their child with more pleasant living conditions.
As a result, the family relocates to the Botswana Nature Reserve, where they reach a deal with the management. The baby made friends with an elephant named Abu and a leopard named J&B, with whom she enjoyed playing.
Tippi has made friends with numerous species throughout her ten years in the wild, including ostriches, zebras, giraffes, and even crocodiles. They ran, and rolled in the grass, she could ride on them, and they even slept together at times.
The girl remembered her parents’ rules: always be friendly, don’t make sudden moves, and never turn her back on predators. Tippi’s family relocated to France when she was 10 years old, where she attended school, but she always remembered Africa with apprehension as her native home.
At the age of 30, the girl returned to her homeland and produced six nature documentaries for the Discovery Channel. She also frequently appeared as a tiger keeper in the popular TV show “Fort Boyard.” She is now content to carry on her parents’ work, maintains a website about Africa, and writes a blog.
