A home is more than a structure; it is where you feel most comfortable and at peace, and many individuals will go to any length to build their dream home.
Jack Shelly of Mullinahone, Ireland, began a project that piqued the curiosity of many individuals. When Jack’s grandfather was 29, he bought a house, and his father, grandparents, and five brothers and sisters grew up in the two-bedroom house.’
Jack’s father inherited the cottage, and it remained in decay for a decade after that. “Since then, it’s been abandoned and progressively degrading,” Jack told Newsflare. I chose to bring it back to life at the beginning of this year.”
Jack decided to repair the house while simultaneously turning it into a company by renting it out on Airbnb. The restoration budget was just under $30,000, but because Jack decided to do the work himself, labor was not an issue.
Jack did most of the work himself, including tearing down walls, smashing windows and sinks, and jackhammering the foundation to break up the concrete.
There was still a lot of stuff to get done, though. Jack said, “I was hoping to have it finished by the end of August but now it’s looking more like the end of October.” But we’re hopeful that Jack will do a great job with the house.
