Cher’s ‘The Shoop Shoop Song’ takes us back to 1960.

Cher is a music legend and an American icon. Throughout her career, she has performed both original material and popular cover tunes. She delivers an outstanding rendition of Betty Everett’s ‘The Shoop Shoop Song (It’s In His Kiss)’ from 1964.

Cher created the cover for the music to the 1990 picture ‘Mermaids.’ It peaked at number one in the United Kingdom and number 33 in the United States. Cher’s first number-one single since ‘I Got You Babe’ with her husband, Sonny Bono, in 1965.

Cher is joined onstage by Christina Ricci, a child actress, and Winona Ryder, a teen star. They are dressed in stunning 1960s gowns and attempt to imitate some of the backing dancers’ routines from the time.

In the film, the two younger actors play Cher’s daughters. Later in the show, everyone begins spray-painting a wall as Cher sings with full-bodied fervor.

The single’s success continued to propel Cher’s comeback and eventually led to her 1999 release ‘If I Could Turn Back Time- Cher’s Greatest Hits,’ which included ‘The Shoop Shoop Song.’

Cher has been referred to in the media as the ‘Goddess of Pop.’ After selling 40 million records in the duo Sonny & Cher, she went solo, achieving success with songs like ‘Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves,’ and ‘Dark Lady.’

Cher has also performed on Broadway and, more notably, in a storied movie career. She starred in ‘Silkwood,’ ‘Mask,’ ‘The Witches of Eastwick,’ and ‘Moonstruck.’ Cher is a multi-talented star with decades of success and millions of fans.
