A woman who tried to search for her parents by submitting her DNA to 23and Me discovered that she has a biological son․ 52-year-old Kristin Schoonveld has been adopted as a baby and when she tried to find her biological parents, she was shocked to discover that she has a son! She initially thought that it was just a mistake but she then remembered that she had donated her eggs when she was 25!

Parker Erickson, 26, was conceived with one of her eggs and was also looking for his birth mother on the internet. Kristin told the Indianapolis Star that she decided to give her eggs after reading an article about it in 1994. The couple who chose her wrote her a handwritten note thanking her “from the bottom of our hearts for assisting us in our attempt to have a baby.”

“You seem like a beautiful, fantastic person to us,” the couple wrote. “We hope this experience hasn’t been too taxing on you…. Take care of yourself, and know that your contribution to us means everything. Regards, optimistic parents.” In late 2019, Kristin chose to look for her biological father on 23andMe after discovering her biological mother on MyHeritage.

While looking for her father, she discovered that she has a biological son, a 26-year-old guy from Santa Cruz, California. Kristin told People, “I was thinking it must be some type of error.” At the top of my results list, I was staring at the word “son.”

“And I couldn’t even register what was going on.”Parker’s profile showed that he was conceived via IVF using an egg donor. That’s when Kristin remembered that she had donated her eggs in 1994. Kristin and her biological son started messaging each other, and in November 2019, they decided to meet in Indiana.

Kristin described experiencing ‘instant love,’ saying: “It’s as if I’ve known him his whole life.” Parker also said: “It was like hanging out with people that I already knew.
