Teachers are known for going above and beyond in and out of the classroom, but one Chicago teacher literally carried one of her students on her back so that she could join her classmates on a school trip.

Maggie Vazquez, a fourth-grader at Chicago Charter School Academy of Global Citizenship, was able to accompany her class on the school’s two-night camping trip because to Helma Wardenaar, the school’s co-founder.

Wardenaar would not let Vazquez remain behind, even if it meant carrying the 10-year-old on her back for three days of hiking. So they set about making it happen! Watch the video below to hear the touching story.
