This, at the same time, touching and unusual story took place in the USA. Kemre and Steve had been married for about ten years. And finally, a long-awaited miracle happened in their lives: they were expecting a baby. Unfortunately, the pregnancy proceeded with complications, so already at 33 weeks, doctors decide to perform a cesarean section. But during the operation, the girl had a clinical de-ath!
For almost six minutes, the brain did not receive oxygen, as a result of which she had a stroke and intracerebral bleeding. Doctors did everything possible to save Kemre, they had to put her into a medically induced coma. When the woman finally came to her senses, she could not recognize anyone, she forgot everything: that she has a beloved man, that she was pregnant and was very much waiting for her first baby.
“It was both joyful and tragic. Your beloved woman has woken up, but she does not understand who you are at all. She doesn’t remember that she was expecting a baby… I took care of my son, and she was able to take him in her arms only a month later,” Steve shared. The young mother had to learn to walk and talk again, but, unfortunately, she could not remember anything.
According to the doctors, Steve’s beloved’s brain is like a hard drive that has been completely formatted. “Everyone has memories that they have accumulated throughout their lives. “I didn’t have any of that,” Kamre laments. The task became even more difficult as the girl’s memory worked in an entirely different manner.
She couldn’t recall anything that had happened 15 minutes before. Seven years have passed, and Kemre has gradually learned to remember events even for a few hours, and she can sometimes recall what happened the day before. And she couldn’t even remember her mother, despite the fact that she instinctively needed and was drawn to her. Her mother picked her up from the hospital.
The husband paid frequent visits to his beloved and offered to finally meet his son. Kemri kept asking who the baby was when she saw it. Despite the fact that she was always gentle and caring with the child. “I don’t remember who you are, but I know for sure that I love you very much,” Kemre said to her son one day. Steve will never forget this moment.
Steve invited Kamre to live with him and their son Gavin a year later. The woman was terrified, but she decided she had to try, and the family was reunited two years later. A year later, Steve proposed to Kemra again, and this time she accepted. But when she looks at her wedding photos, she has no recollection of that day.
“I would so like to feel sadness or joy — those feelings that accompany memories. But this is not there and I look at this photo and see only a picture, behind which there is nothing …”, — Kamre shared. Well, Steve, constantly tells his wife about the day they got married. Steve even wrote a book for his wife about how they met and how their romance developed and called it like this: “I don’t remember who you are, but I know for sure that I love you.”
“After reading it, I realized that I had lost… But nothing can be done and I have to move on and just enjoy every moment of my life,” says Kamre. Now Kamra has to deal with seizures of epilepsy, which she acquired after experiencing a stroke. She dreams that someday this ailment will become curable.
“I so want to go back to work and start driving a car. I don’t remember exactly how I did it, but I know that it was in my life. I want to go shopping again and take my son to school like all ordinary parents. I want my life back,” the woman said.
