Jessica Reboredo and her husband have worked tirelessly to provide for their children. Jessica earns money by working as a server at Chili’s, while Robert worked as a professional carpenter. But when Robert was just 24 years old, their lives were forever changed when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer that had already metastasized to his stomach and his lungs.

Making the situation even direr and difficult was the fact Jessica was pregnant with their fourth child at the time of Robert’s diagnosis. Robert flew from Las Vegas to Los Angeles to receive treatment, which meant Jessica had to travel many miles to be with him. Without his income to support the family, she was struggling to keep the bills paid and put food on the table!

Because she couldn’t afford a hotel, she had to sleep in her car outside the hospital. Jessica had no idea that she would soon receive an outpouring of love… Jessica had maintained contact with her second-grade teacher, Kimberly, despite the passage of decades. Jessica’s former teacher would go on to play an important role in her life.

Kimberly contacted the Fox5 Surprise Squad in 2018 to see if they could assist Jessica and her family. Jessica appears to be working a normal shift at Chili’s in the video below. Hidden cameras are installed throughout the restaurant as Jessica serves multiple tables. She is completely taken aback when each customer begins to leave a larger tip than the last. The first tip is worth $200. The next one is $300… then $500… and finally $1,000. But that isn’t enough…
