Heartwarming moment! Twins In Their Late-60s Who Were Separated At Birth Meet For The First Time

No matter how estranged you’ve been from your family, there will always come a time when you will all long to be together again. George Skrzynecky and Lucian Poznanski were already 69 years old when they first met each other after being separated at birth. George and Lucian were born in 1946. Their mother, Elizabeth, was Polish, Catholic, and was just freed from a labor camp at the end of World War II.

Elizabeth became ill after giving birth to her twins. She knew she would not be able to take care of them so she decided to give them up for adoption. George and Lucian were sent to Poland and got adopted into different homes. Eventually, as they grew up, they both found out about each other in different ways. Lucian learned that he was adopted only when he was drafted into the army, while George came across his adoption papers when he was 17 years old.

He discovered he had a twin brother that day, but Lucian didn’t find out about him until he was in his 60s. George requested assistance from the Red Cross in locating his twin, but they were unable to locate him. When Lucian found out about George, he asked for help from the Red Cross as well, and that’s how the two of them became acquainted.

George flew from his home in California to Warsaw, Poland, where his twin brother awaited him. With tears in their eyes, the twins held each other. They kissed each other on the cheek and expressed how happy they were to finally meet. They promised to make up for lost time and create new memories as “brothers forever.”
