American Autumn Lampkins managed to accomplish almost the impossible. She sued the owners of the famous fast food restaurant KFC for $ 1.5 million.! The American woman received this money for infringement of her maternal rights. That’s how it was. It all started in 2014 when Autumn came to get a job at a KFC restaurant. At that time, the girl was raising a 2-month-old son!
Lumpkins was eager to begin work on the condition that she be allowed to express breast milk several times per day. After all, the girl was breastfeeding her child and wanted to continue breastfeeding. Autumn was told during the interview that it was quite possible. However, the American realized on the first day of work that management had not even considered fulfilling its promise.
“We agreed that I would be given a 2-hour break to express milk.” In the end, they only let me do it once during the entire 10-hour shift. “Their promises were meaningless,” Lampkins stated. Autumn could also only express milk in the management office, which was “stuffed” with surveillance cameras. This caused the girl great discomfort and eventually caused the young mother to discontinue lactation.
Autumn was forced to feed her infant son an artificial mixture. Lampkins decided to sue the restaurant management after being fired from KFC. The girl sought restitution for the harm done to her and her child. Moreover, the court upheld Lampkins’ allegations against KFC. Autumn’s former management was found guilty of violating her rights as a working nursing woman. The restaurant’s owners must pay the ex-employee $25,000 in moral damages and an additional $1.5 million in “punitive” damages.
