On December 13, an extraordinary event occurred in the English county of Devon (England). The baby’s mother, 24-year-old Jazmin, lost consciousness after taking painkillers. She had a severe allergy and felt dizzy, as a result of which she fell and hit her head hard!
The first to come to the rescue was her 2–year-old baby Esme Hawkins. The child did not cry and panic, as 99% of such children would have done. She found her mother’s phone, unlocked it, and FaceTimed a family friend. Jessica heard a two-year-old child say, “Mom hit her head and is now sleeping.”
The friend suspected something was wrong right away, called the doctors, and spoke with her before they arrived. Jessica attempted to cheer her up, calm her down, and persuade her to open the front door to the arriving doctors.
Esme refused to be persuaded right away, claiming that her mother had never taught her to open the door to strangers. Jessica requested that she only break her promise once. It also worked! Paramedics discovered a woman unconscious and carefully wrapped in a blanket “so that mommy doesn’t freeze.”
Jazmin is now fully recovered, but Esme, the little hero, is expecting a lot of Christmas gifts from family, friends, and acquaintances. According to her mother, the girl was never allowed to spend a lot of time on the phone and was always supervised by her. It’s still unclear how she was able to use the app. Do you still believe that children are helpless and small creatures?
