A cat saved his owner from a heart attack by acting quickly when he sensed the danger his human, Sam Felstead, didn’t. “He was quite clever, bless him,” Sam Felstead of the UK recalled. “He wanted to be by my side all the time. He usually sits next to my mother and is uninterested in me. He adores my mother and lavishes her with affection.”

Though Billy’s sudden interest in her appeared strange at first, it wasn’t until the cat saved his owner from a heart attack that it became clear he was sensing something his humans couldn’t. When Sam went to bed, she had no reason to believe that this night would be any different from any other. Her cat Billy, on the other hand, woke her up hours before her alarm went off for work. That’s when she realized there was something seriously wrong!

Billy, a normally quiet cat, jumped on Sam’s chest and continued to meow. But before Sam could dwell on her cat’s actions, she became aware that something was wrong with her body. “I just woke up in a sweat and my arms were really heavy and it was really painful and my back was hurting,” she explained. Sam Felstead couldn’t move her right side and yelled to her mother, who summoned an ambulance.

And it was later revealed at the hospital that this cat had saved his owner from a heart attack. “I do believe he saved my life, and so does everyone else around me,” Sam said. Sam survived the terrifying ordeal after doctors performed an angioplasty. However, things could have turned out very differently if Billy hadn’t woken her up when he did. He made sure Sam got to the hospital before it was too late by waking her up.

“I do believe he probably did save her life because that’s what enabled her to get medical help,” said feline behaviorist Lucy Hoile. She believes Billy was reacting to physiological changes in Sam rather than acting to save his owner from a heart attack. In any case, God clearly used this furry angel to warn Sam of danger when she needed it the most. Our pets are truly a blessing!
