They used to reside in a 2,000-square-foot house, but when they had to downsize, they relocated into an 860-square-foot shed. When the disaster struck, Nick Lucido and his wife, Meghan, were living in the town of Cumming!

When they had to sell their house, they devised a novel scheme to get out of debt and back on their feet. According to the New York Post, Nick said, “We never missed a mortgage payment.” “We were both pretty young — young professionals,” she says. And we had two brand new vehicles, a brand new home, and we were barely out of debt.” They made their first purchase shortly after the outbreak began!

The couple spent $40,000 to purchase 8.46 acres of property. “We noticed a two-story shed in the Home Depot parking lot and thought, ‘I believe we could make it work,'” Nick said. They then began the process of transforming the house into a home. The family opted to live in a camper van until the shed was ready for use.
