Babies are tiny bundles of joy, with their huge eyes and plump cheeks that captivate everyone who sees them. Their giggles and gurgles have the capacity to soften even the hardest of hearts. Though newborns are highly adorable, their capacity to communicate has yet to mature, so parents must pay careful attention to what their kid is attempting to tell them.
A husband and wife in China were aware that their kid had acquired an odd habit of frequently stroking his head. They dismissed his unusual tendency, believing it was nothing to be concerned about. They thought he was simply getting used to his body. What seemed to be a simple gesture turned out to be much more. Even after two weeks, the parents observed that their newborn An An continued repeating the motion of placing his palm to his head.

They also saw that every time he did it, his face scrunched up as though he was in a lot of agony. They were concerned that this conduct may not be as innocuous as they had assumed, so they hurried him to the hospital to see a physician and receive a check-up. The couple couldn’t believe the findings when the doctor did a few tests on baby An An and their diagnosis was complete.

It turns out that their youngster had been suffering from otitis media all along. Otitis medium is a frequent illness in young children in which the middle region of the ear becomes inflamed. An An’s condition was especially serious since his illness had progressed significantly due to a lack of treatment for an extended length of time. His parents were very troubled since they felt responsible for their child’s misery.

They didn’t hesitate to dismiss An An’s motions as part of the child’s maturation process. Fortunately, the physicians told the parents that their kid will recover completely with proper care and therapy. The physicians also praised the parents for bringing their kid in for a check-up before the illness worsened.
