Losing a parent means losing a piece of yourself, especially when you’re young and don’t understand why your mother or father, whom you adore unconditionally, is no longer with you. The pain is excruciating, and it appears that it will not go away no matter how much time passes.

Fortunately, during our grief, we usually have kind people around us who help us overcome our grief, if that’s even possible. This video, which has been viewed by over 7.4 million people, is touching people’s hearts. Little Jerry has lost his mother and is now pleading with the officer on the other end of the line to assist him in finding her in Heaven. Officer Lee answers the phone, unaware of what he is about to hear.

But how do you tell a five-year-old that their mother will never return or sing to them or again? You simply do not. Officer Lee instructs Jerry to obtain a red balloon, write a message to his mother on a piece of paper, and then release it into the sky, where it will reach her.

Jerry buys a lot of red balloons and writes many heartfelt messages, but they never make it to his mother. So he calls Lee again, and what follows will have you in tears.
