A 5-year-old hero went above and beyond to save his family from an electrical fire.

On a Sunday morning, a five-year-old hero awoke to flames, and his first thought was not to save himself, but to save all others.. Noah Woods, a five-year-old boy, grabbed his sister and dog and ran away from the window. But after he had done so much more. When an electrical fire broke out in his house on a Sunday morning, the first thing he did was save his dog and sister. A GoFundMe page was created to cover the family’s expenses.

“On the morning of February 9, we were awoken by my 5-year-old grandson, who informed us that our home was on fire.” We thank God for Noah and his valiant actions. By God’s grace, all nine of our loved ones were able to leave our home. We might not be here today if it hadn’t been for Noah. The electrical fire started in the kids’ room. Noah awoke to the sound of flames in his room. He quickly grabbed his two-year-old sister, Lilly, opened the bedroom window, climbed out, and dashed next door to seek assistance from his uncle, our son, Josh.

We were all able to reach safety within minutes. “We thank God that we are all safe,” says the GoFundMe page description. “Our hero!” exclaimed the Bartow County Fire Department on their Facebook page. “Nathan Woods, 5, recently awoke to find his bedroom on fire.” The only way out was through a window. He escaped the fire with his 2-year-old sister through the window and returned to the house to alert the rest of the family.

Fortunately, all nine members of the family were able to escape, and with the exception of a minor burn on Noah’s wrist, no one was injured. “Noah and four other members of his family were treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation… On Friday, Chief Dwayne Jamison of the Bartow County Fire Department will recognize him as an Honorary Bartow County Firefighter and present him with a Lifesaving Award.” AWAY FROM THE RECORD A 5-year-old hero went above and beyond to save his family from an electrical fire.

“If it hadn’t been for Noah, I mean, we were all asleep, so we wouldn’t have known what was going on,” Noah’s grandfather, David Woods, said. “We could have all perished. Despite the fact that the entire family was safe, their home was a total wreck. People from all over the world donated to help this family with the costs of rebuilding their home. “We might not be here today if it hadn’t been for Noah,” David wrote.
