Watch this video how Huge Mako Shark Lands On Boat

A large mako shark leaped out of the water and landed directly on the front of a group of fishermen in New Zealand. The stunning moment was captured on video by Ryan Churches, owner of Churchys Charters NZ. If you are having trouble viewing the video above, please see the version below.

Churches told Storyful that the mako shark took the bait while his customers were looking for kingfish. The shark leaped out of the water not long after being hooked. The crew immediately warned people not to approach him because “he’s not happy.”

After thrashing around for a while, the shark comes to a halt, leaving Churches and the crew wondering what they were going to do. Fortunately, the shark was able to wiggle free on its own. Churches later told The New Zealand Herald, “He got away safe.”

“There wasn’t much we could do. We can’t go up to the front because they go absolutely insane.” He went on to say that “windscreens and hard-tops were blocking it.” Churches also told the newspaper that the customers were “counting their blessings” that he didn’t land on the back of the boat. He, too, thought they were extremely fortunate. “We were lucky it didn’t come into the back of the boat,” he said, “or it could have been a very different story.”
