Sometimes, neighbors can be a great source of mutual support. However, if your neighbors are constantly nosing around your house or being otherwise intrusive, things could become difficult. If you live in a flat or an apartment, you’re surely aware that the walls appear to be made of paper. If your neighbor so much as breathes, it can feel as though your very walls are giving way.
They didn’t do anything wrong, and most people are understanding and forgiving if their upstairs, downstairs, or next-door neighbors make a little noise now and then. Learn about the man’s encounter with his neighbor and offer advice by reading the story. I’ve been renting a flat (UK) for about a year and a half, and in that time I’ve only lived there for about three weeks.
During that time, my downstairs neighbors have been nothing but trouble, constantly banging on the ceiling despite my best efforts to keep them at bay. I don’t know how to tell them that I legally belong here and that they have no say in what happens outside of their apartment building. Someone else moving in here would be here all the time and make a lot more noise than I do. Unfortunately, their predicament persists. If I leave, those people will only hurt themselves, so I could use some advice on how to deal with their obvious entitlement and unreasonableness.
