These robbers thought the elderly grandmother would be an easy target, but she fought them off bravely.

While your interactions with your grandmother have been nothing but positive, it would be a mistake to believe that grandparents in general are harmless people. That is not the case, as three robbers discovered when they attempted to rob an unarmed woman, believing she was an easy target. This is the story of Mrs. Winifred Pell of Bromborough, Wirral, who was trying to withdraw money from an ATM when she was jumped by three people.

She noticed someone standing just behind her as she stood in front of the ATM, about to enter her PIN number. Two other people immobilized her before she could react or scream. A 77-year-old grandmother repels three robbers at an ATM vestibule. One of the robbers decided to withdraw 200 pounds from this grandmother’s account while she was immobilized. This made the woman realize she was being robbed and that if she didn’t act quickly, her entire account would be depleted before her eyes.

So, when one of the robbers attempted to withdraw more money from her account, she grabbed hold of him and continued slamming his head on the ATM. When the others saw their accomplice’s plight, they fled the scene, as did the person with the head injury. Fortunately, the woman called the police, and the attackers were apprehended the same day. The only reason the police were able to identify one of the individuals was because of Grandma Winifred’s head injury.

Piper Dumitru, Felix Stoica, and Florin Geblescu were identified as the perpetrators. The robbers had been driving around town looking for targets to rob, according to case prosecutor William Beardmore. “They didn’t care how that affected me,” Winifred told Metro. I can confidently state that this event changed my life; I will never have the confidence I once had.”

This Grandma also mentioned that because she grew up with three older brothers and participated in sports throughout her life, she was able to demonstrate tenacity that the three robbers did not expect.
