After all, what someone will pay for something determines its worth, right? The coin, however, drew 20 bids and sold for the asking price of $35,000. Why is the big question?

According to a Women’s World article, there are only a few coins minted in 1970 that were mistakenly printed over 1941 Canadian quarters! You can actually see the printed error if you know what to look for. Here’s a 1941 Canadian quarter for comparison:

Looking back at the 1970 quarter, you can see the original Canadian coin’s subtle markings. For instance, printed letters next to “Liberty,” or “1941” beneath “Dollar.” Now that you know what to look for, go dig up some loose change and see if you have a fortune just waiting to be discovered!
