A mother requests that her doctor pray for her child, and she witnesses a miracle.

A Cleveland family is thanking God and celebrating the life of their baby boy after a rare cardiac operation saved him. Danielle Edmonds, the mother, asked her child’s doctor to pray with her for her child and then witnessed a miracle from God. DJ’s parents believe that without the power of prayer and the incredible healthcare facilities in Northeast Ohio, he would not have survived.

Danielle Edmonds, DJ’s mother, describes her childhood as a Godsend and a miracle baby. “I didn’t know if I’d ever be able to bring my baby home. “From one hospital to another,” Edmonds explains. “From the start, it’s been a roller coaster. “I knew he was my miracle from the start because he survived,” she added. “The two arteries [of DJ] arose from the same ventricle, rather than each one arising from a different ventricle,” says Dr. Hani Najm,

Chair of Pediatric and Adult Heart Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. As a result, the right ventricle has two outlets while the left ventricle has none.” Edmonds realized that only God could save DJ after learning of her baby’s diagnosis. She knew she needed to let go of her worries and fears and allow God to handle the difficult situation she was in.

“Before he took my son, I asked him [Dr. Najm] to pray on his hands. I asked if I could pray on your hands. And he didn’t think about it or even know what his religious beliefs were… “All he did was hand me his hands,” Edmonds recalls. DJ was the youngest patient in his age group to receive “the ventricular switch,” according to Dr. Najm. The surgery was a huge success, and DJ is now in the best shape of his life.

“He was blue around his eyes and around his lips. “However, when he returned from open heart surgery, he was pink,” the family says. Little DJ is now doing well and has even learned how to take selfies and is fascinated by technology. He is constantly monitored and will have regular medical checkups over the years. We thank God for little DJ’s miraculous healing and recovery and join the family in celebrating his life. He is a gift, and he has been a blessing in every sense of the word.
