She has volunteered for years in their community, rescuing wild animals and educating people about them.

She received a call from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation one day. They were asking for her assistance in rescuing several exotic animals that had been kept in captivity so that people could pay to watch them perform demonstrations. They asked Kim to take in a wolf dog named Dakota because she had worked with wolves and foxes before, and she agreed to do so for a few days.Dakota was described as aggressive by the rescuers.

Kim also noticed that he was angry when he was first brought in, but that all changed once he realized he was in a safe place.Dakota began approaching her and giving her hugs and kisses after seeing how Kim takes care of him, and he’s also very protective of her.Dakotas got along well with the rest of the wolves and foxes. Kim eventually added a few more wolf dogs to their pack.Kim initially assumed Dakota would only stay with her temporarily, but after realizing the strong bond they’d formed, she told herself that this was all going to be permanent now.
