Woman Buys 1966 GMC Commuter Greyhound Bus, Then Spends 3 Years Transforming It Into A Tiny Home

Jessie Lipskin, who lives in New York City and is 30 years old, chose to downsize and live a simpler life. People are making this choice more and more often these days, as they give up their McMansions for a more sustainable way to live. Also, if you live in New York, you know that room is valuable, so it makes sense to make the most of what you have!

Jessie bought a 1966 GMC Commuter Greyhound bus on eBay to use as her tiny home. She got help from friends and contractors to turn this old bus into the cutest little house. She put in $125,000 to make the idea happen. The old Greyhound bus is for sale on eBay right now for about $50,000. Jessie chose this cute house because it looked nice and met her needs for her lifestyle.

It took a total of three years to finish this amazing change… When you see the new bus, you won’t be able to tell it from the old one. “It was pretty easy to make the change after I learned more about Earthships, small homes, and other sustainable ways of living. When asked how she changed to a more simple life with the tiny house, Jessie said, “I kind of just went all in.”

As with any remodeling project, this one had its share of bumps in the road. When Jessie bought the bus, she didn’t have her driver’s license, so her friends helped her out. “Two of my friends drove it back to upstate New York, where I stayed for a while while I worked on it and took it apart. I moved it from there to New Jersey because I knew people there who could help me work on it,” she said.

Even though this is a small home, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have the most up-to-date tools. It has a big sink, wooden counters, an oven, and a stove top. It also has a full washer and dryer, hot water that is ready to use right away, and a gas tank.Across from the kitchen is a bathroom with a standing shower. The cute bedroom is Jessie’s favorite place in the tiny house.
