Greg Smith’s businessman appearance causes him to be accosted multiple times by strangers asking for money as he walks to work every day in a suit. However, one homeless woman did not ask for money and instead simply wished him a good day, which piqued his interest. Smith is the founder of Hybrid Athletes, a firm in Orlando, Florida that promotes health and well-being via exercise.
With people constantly approaching him for money, it attracted his eye when he came across a homeless woman who merely smiled and said, “Good morning, Sir.” Have a wonderful day. “May God bless (you)!”—words Smith had not anticipated hearing. That’s when he struck up a discussion with the homeless woman, Amy Joe, and their friendship began. They started seeing each other on Tuesdays for 30 minutes to an hour just to eat and converse.

“Amy Joe and I now have lunch together every Tuesday.” “I get to hear how positive she is even though she has nothing for 30 minutes to an hour,” Smith wrote on Facebook. “Amy Joe dropped a bombshell on me last week—she can’t read.” Amy Joe does not smoke, drink, or have a drug problem or anything of the sort. She has simply never had someone teach her how to read.”
“She told me how difficult it was for her to find work because she couldn’t read.” She began to tell me that any money she can save is spent on library books that help her learn to read rather than on food.” What’s more, Joe would rather learn than spend the money she received on food. She’d probably be thinking that once she has a good job, she’ll be able to buy whatever she wants.

Smith has spent his spare time since that day teaching Joe to read. He rented one library book per week so they could read it together on Tuesday and she could practice on her own the rest of the week. Aside from that, Smith not only helped Joe learn to read but also gave her a new look!

Smith offered her some food, drinks, and other items she would require. Since then, Smith has taken excellent care of Joe . Joe has been wishing Smith a happy day, and it appears that the generous man is reciprocating by assisting Joe in having a good day as well!
