After your life has broken apart, it’s difficult to envisage a bright future. Even in the darkest of circumstances, though, hope can emerge. Courtney Hill learned this lesson the hard way when her husband Bryan was snatched from her and their children.Bryan spent several years in the United States Army, including tours in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. He has put himself in several dangerous situations over the years and has always come out uninjured.
Bryan’s retirement from the Army provided him and Courtney with optimism for a more peaceful, fulfilling life together. They were, however, oblivious that disaster was just around the corner.Bryan was murdered in a car accident in February of 2016. Reagan, Courtney’s daughter, also had to say goodbye to her grandfather after his death.Courtney’s entire existence was soon overtaken by the preparations for the wake.During this tumultuous period, she learned unexpectedly that she was pregnant.
At Bryan’s funeral, Courtney sat by his side and said, “Sweetheart, you’re going to be a dad again.””Being a mother teaches you about strengths you didn’t know you had and how to deal with fears you didn’t know you had.” Courtney’s anguish subsided with time. She tried, to the best of her ability, to settle into her new schedule.Unfortunately, Courtney’s severe stomach pain complicated matters.
She went to the doctor because she was worried about having a miscarriage. Then Courtney learned something else that completely changed her life. The doctors recognized three children during the ultrasound: two boys and a girl.”My mouth dropped open. “However, I was thrilled to have three more smiles that reminded me of him,” she told CBS Chicago.
The risks of having triplets are significant, and Courtney received devastating news at her second ultrasound.
One of the infants, Brady, had stopped breathing. Miles and Harper, the other two babies, arrived safely.Courtney’s joy stems from her sons, Miles and Harper, as well as her daughter, Reagan. She’s looking forward to being a parent since she believes Bryan would be overjoyed with her offspring. Courtney is regularly asked if her kids, Miles and Harper, are twins. “I call them surviving triplets,” she explains, smiling.Miles and Harper, welcome to the world! Miles came at 12:59 a.m. and weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces.
Harper, his sister, came at 1:04 a.m. and weighed 5lbs 13 oz. Courtney and the kids are doing fantastic! Courtney’s family is her rock while she mourns the loss of her spouse and kid. Bryan was a fearless warrior, a powerful guy, and a loving soul. She treasures every time she spends with her children because their father died before he could meet them.Courtney now cherishes every moment she spends with her gorgeous children because she knows how quickly joy can fade.
