The soothing, tinkling melody produced by the wind chimes hanging outside Zoie L.’s Florida home has given way to an entirely different kind of cacophony in recent months. It also requires no breeze at all. Zoie was sitting on the porch with her mother a few weeks ago when they heard a sound that was both familiar and strange.
It was the croaking of a nearby frog, but the sound seemed extremely magnified and reverberant. “The chirping was kind of echo-y,” Zoie explained to The Dodo. It came from the wind chimes.Moving closer to the source of the music, Zoie noticed something projecting slightly from one of the hollow tubes of the chime.

“It was definitely something I wasn’t prepared for,” she admitted.Indeed, Zoie had just discovered an endearing fact: a little frog had taken up residence within the chime, squeezing his moist little body into the metal tube for comfort and protection.

“I definitely didn’t expect it,” remarked Zoei. “It’s a new one for me.” However, a deeper examination revealed that the frog was not alone.A frog sat seated within the majority of the chime’s metal tubes, their curious little faces peering out over the top as though gathered for some old frog rite. “They’re almost like a secret society,” Zoie explained.

“It’s too adorable.Despite the fact that Zoie and her family found their secret hideout, the frogs have continued to call the wind chimes home. Zoie would have none of it any other way. “I’m just letting them be,” she explained. “They mostly sing at night or when we’re talking outside.” We live in nature here, and I adore all the critters.”
