Al Roker and Deborah Roberts pay touching tributes to their 28th wedding anniversary: ‘It’s been a fantastic adventure.’

Al Roker and Deborah Roberts deserve a year of highs after a year of lows. The couple celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary over the weekend. On Instagram, the two shared nostalgic photos of themselves from their relationship’s history, as well as heartfelt tributes to one another. “28 years ago, @deborahrobertsabc swore to be there for better or worse, thick and thin. There have been good and awful times. But the most precious gift Mother has given me is my family.

“Happy Anniversary, sweetheart,” Roker, 69, captioned his post. Throughout the Today weatherman’s spate of life-threatening medical problems the preceding year, Roberts, 62, continually stood by his side, displaying her commitment to him in good and bad times. In his anniversary post, Roker included a carousel of images from the couple’s wedding day. Along with a photo of the couple meeting former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, he also shared a photo of one of their children when they were younger.

Roberts did not pass up the opportunity to celebrate her spouse of 28 years. She sent a romantic comment with her own carousel of photographs of the couple over the years, including one of them beaming next to a cake fashioned to look like The New York Times front page announcing their wedding. “Wow! It’s been 28 years. We set out on our voyage with a few butterflies, a lot of enthusiasm, and hearts full of optimism.

And it’s been quite an adventure. This past year has taught us to appreciate each and every moment. You are mine…I am yours. And I’m right where you are. Happy anniversary, my beloved. Let’s keep making memories.” Roker and Roberts met when they were both working for NBC in 1990. Later, Roberts joined ABC. Leila, 24, and Nick, 21, are the couple’s two children. Courtney, another daughter from Roker’s previous marriage, is 35 years old.
