Many people want to demolish 150-year-old, dilapidated houses. They do, however, have immense promise. This potential was rapidly recognized by the proprietors of the former stone farmhouse in Galicia, Spain.
It had been abandoned and was in disrepair, but it is now a lovely residential area. The farmhouse improvements took a long time. The current house was built by combining three previous houses.
In addition to the main floor, the additional construction is 150 square meters in size and has two levels. A wooden hallway with a ceiling connects the center and eastern halves.
This is an ingenious approach to ensure that water flows from one house to the next, and then to the third.
On the ground floor, there is a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room. Inside, natural elements other than stone were uncovered. It’s the perfect wood to pair with stone. The white transverse beams emphasize the lofty ceilings and oak furnishings even more.
And the walls are also white. Aesthetic lighting fixtures in an industrial style were utilized. This area will be closed to the public. When you go to the top floors, everything changes. The steps are made of concrete and metal and look fantastic against the stone walls. They are the steps to the attic bedroom. You can be sure that you will wake up to a starry sky thanks to the skylights.
