An eight-year-old boy gave his mom a very thoughtful Christmas present that made her cry. Ruthie Hagmann, his mother, had a touching response as she opened her son’s Christmas present. It was shared on TikTok and in just a few days had over 13 million views. Through the video, the kid gave his mom a small gift box. When she looked inside, she got a sense of what was going to happen. She knew what she was getting from his son because of the glasses and the red bag.
She was sure her guess was right when he gave her a bigger gift box and she opened it. She couldn’t hold back her tears. The box contained an American Girl doll, the same doll she had as a child. Hagmann wrote in her post that she lost her American Girl doll Molly when she and her family moved around a lot after her father died. She said she was crazy about her doll and took it with her everywhere.”

This gift healed my inner child.” He’s so sweet, I can’t believe it. She wrote, “I’ll never forget this Christmas.” She said it was the “best Christmas present ever” and the “most thoughtful gift” she had ever gotten. A while ago, he talked to her son about toys. The little plush ghost that he loves is his best toy. He said that he would cry and be so sad if he ever lost it. ‘You haven’t lost it,’ I tell her. That’s not your problem.
Then he asked me if I had ever lost a toy, so I told him my story. It was probably last year,” Hagmann said. She kept telling her son that Molly was her best toy every time he asked. She had no idea he would get her the doll or bother to listen to her story so much.”I stared at him in shock after I stopped crying and kept telling him, ‘You have no idea what this means to me.'” “He kept telling her, ‘I love you, Mommy, I love you, Mommy,'” Hagmann said.’

“It was so sweet. I think he just wants me to feel like I could have my favorite toy. I told him over and over again how much I loved him and how grateful I am. Hagmann added, “It’s crazy that he cared enough to ask me that question and to ask me about my childhood in the first place.” “I love how thoughtful he is.” She also said it was a wonderful Christmas that she would never forget.
Hagmann’s son Hudson wasn’t just a nice kid, it turned out. He knew how to keep secrets and plan surprises well too. He told no one about the doll for months, and in April he began looking for it. He got the American Girl doll with the help of her mother-in-law. They had a hard time finding an old doll like Molly, but they did it in the end. Thank you to the toy company for putting it out again in 2021 for the 35th anniversary of the American Girl doll.

The American Girl company sent Hagmann a message yesterday inviting her and her family to visit New York City and eat at the American Girl doll café.They also said they’d buy Hudson any Mattel toy he wanted, which she thought was really nice. She wants to take her kids on a trip to New York this month as a surprise. Watch this video to see Hagmann open a thoughtful present from her son, who is 8 years old:
