Kate Middleton is ‘furious’ with Queen Camilla. A royal expert explains the reasons behind this.

At first look, King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation appeared to be picture-perfect, but now that specialists have reviewed the tape, one detail has piqued their interest, and it includes Camilla and Kate Middleton. For the Britons, it’s all about tradition, and Camilla’s grandkids being given such important responsibilities as Pages of Honor, alongside Prince George, was not well received by some admirers, including Kate Middleton.

Camilla’s former husband, Andrew Parker Bowles, her son, Tom Parker Bowles, her daughter Laura Lopes, and several of her grandchildren were among those in attendance. Camilla’s sister, Annabel Elliot, was present alongside a friend, the Marchioness of Lansdowne. There were twenty members from Camilla’s side of the family at the Westminster Abbey, which ABC royal reporter Victoria Murphy described as a new step for them.”

Camilla’s family are very much front and centre at this event, and that is interesting as this is a state occasion, and they are usually totally private,” she went on to say. “Camilla’s family being so involved and visible does send, I think, a message about just how important she is to Charles’ reign and very much reminds us that this is their Coronation, not just his.”

Kate, on the other hand, had four family members in Westminster Abbey to support her: her sister Pippa Middleton, brother James Middleton, and her parents Carole and Michael. This supposedly enraged the Princess of Wales, who was not afraid to express her displeasure by ‘not moving a limb’ as Camilla exited the Abbey and the rest of the guests gave a bow.

“Camilla bought twenty Parker Bowles’ to the coronation, and there were four Middletons,” royal expert Tom Bower told host Dan Wooton. “What’s more, at the Windsor concert the next day, William makes no mention of Queen Camilla. So there’s tension there.” The author then stated that the tension was a “dangerous position for Charles to be in,” especially when a “exhausted” Queen Camilla “disappeared” from public view because Kate was “behaving like the Queen.”

“If you look at the Coronation footage, as the King and Queen leave the thrones and head for the exit of Westminster Abbey, you’ll see that everyone bows and curtsies to the King and no one moves a limb, a muscle when Camilla passes,” the royal historian stated. “And it was because they were angry with her. No one moves. Kate and William were also angry. That rage swept over the small section of the congregation by the throne in the heart of Westminster Abbey.

And it was immediately clear to those who had been excluded that no one, let alone Kate, curtsied to Queen Camilla.” Everyone who witnessed the coronation agrees that Camilla’s grandsons performed admirably as Pages of Honor, but many believe that the Queen’s daughter’s twin sons being given such major positions violated the tradition that British people hold dear.

Kinsey Schofield, another royal specialist, believes that the Queen strayed too far from royal precedent. “The Royal Family’s significance lies in its traditions. The world envies these traditions and rites. When they go too far from such customs, they will irritate and disappoint a large number of people who believe that their acts undermine the mystique.

Furthermore, Schofield argues that, despite being in the spotlight during the coronation, Camilla’s family is not appealing to royal enthusiasts. “Camilla’s popularity may have increased, but that doesn’t necessarily mean there will be any interest in her grandchildren,” according to the royal advisor. The Queen enjoys spending time with her grandkids, and according to her, so does King Charles, who reads them Harry Potter when they visit Scotland.
