I am currently pregnant with my second child. You know how people say that the second pregnancy will be more emotional? At first, I didn’t believe it because I thought my mother was just telling me an old myth. But there is some truth to it. Even though it wasn’t about my baby, it was all about my husband. During most of my second pregnancy, I wanted to hide and eat a lot of junk food.

So I could do things with my best friend Ava, I had to leave the house.I put my swollen feet up while she made me a strawberry milkshake. She told me she had heard about this cool clay place. She talked about how someone signed up for some kind of pottery party. I asked if we could make pots even though I could think of a hundred better things to do. As she mixed my drink with a smile, she said:

“May not always. It would be fine to just paint pots. “Let’s do it together, Liv!”She got me to agree by saying that we could make things for my baby’s room. I didn’t want to, but I told her she could owe me anything the baby wanted that night, and we made a deal. “I’ve already told Malcolm to watch Tess for the evening while we’re out,” my friend said.

She wasn’t crazy about my husband, and the fact that she had already told him about our night out made me realize how badly she wanted me to leave the house. When we got to the pottery studio, 15 women were already scheduled for the same time slot. They all just wanted to relax, drink, and have fun, which is what Ava had promised me as well. We had no idea what a wild ride we were in for!

The women shared their own birth stories or talked about someone close to them while they talked about birth tales. Then one of them talked about how she and her boyfriend went on a date, but he had to leave quickly because his sister-in-law (SIL) was giving birth. “It was the 4th of July, and we were at my flat watching a movie when he said that Olivia was in labor.”

She told him that she had asked him why he had to leave since it was almost midnight and they were both tired. He told her it was a family matter and that they all wanted to be there when the baby was born, but she didn’t care. We looked at each other because my first child, Tess, was born on the same day as hers, and my name is Olivia. The woman then talked about her birth, which took place six months later. As I looked at the different shades of paint, she spoke to the group:

“Oh no, Malcolm missed it! “Can you picture it?””He was there for his niece’s birth but not our son’s!” Her Malcolm said he couldn’t leave because he had to watch his sister Tess. “What are the odds?” Ava told me in a whisper. “Wait, your boyfriend’s name is Malcolm?” The woman said yes when I asked. I showed her the background on my phone, which was a picture of Malcolm, Tess, and me.

I asked her if that was him. She gave me another nod and looked at me blankly before saying, “Your husband?” But he’s also the father of my child.”As I tried to figure out what was going on, my heart sank and the room spun. The clay party turned into a strange nightmare. It hit me that my husband had not only cheated on me but also had a child with this other woman.

The other women could tell how serious the situation was by the way they looked at each other. I had to leave the meeting because I was too stressed out. Tears were running down my face. I stood in the bathroom and tried to figure out what was going on.I talked to Malcolm about it today because I didn’t want to let this problem get worse, mostly because I’m due in five weeks.

I had to figure out what to do before I brought my baby into this mess. He reluctantly admitted to having a romance and having a child with another woman. Right now I’m looking into divorce lawyers while eating chocolate.
