Kate Middleton is taking a break from her royal responsibilities as she recovers from stomach surgery in January. Is there more going on behind the scenes?
Some royal observers certainly seem to believe so. Kate hasn’t been seen in public in nearly two months, and some are beginning to suspect that the royal family is hiding something. Kate last appeared in public around Christmas.
Nobody has seen the Princess of Wales in a long time. According to Nicki Swift, Kate’s final public appearance was on Christmas Eve, when she went on her annual family walk in Sandringham. Only a few weeks later, the palace revealed that Kate had been hospitalized and would be unable to perform her royal duties until after Easter while she recovered.
A lot of time has passed, yet there hasn’t been much news. The palace announced to the public that Kate had been released from the hospital roughly two weeks after her stay, but there has been no further information on her health since. She’s still healing, of course, but it’s strange that after all this time, we haven’t seen any images of her at home — not to mention that the particular sickness she had (or is still suffering from) remains unknown.

Kate’s absence lasts from Christmas until Easter. Hopefully, the situation is not as grave as many are portraying it to be. The most likely outcome in this situation is exactly what the palace has stated: Kate is taking the time she needs to recover from a major surgery. It’s amazing that she can do it in such seclusion, if nothing else.
