Fans rally around Keith Urban after he asks them to pray for him

Keith Urban, an Australian-born musician, is a fan favorite. The account of how he met his now-wife Nicole Kidman reads like a fairytale. During a 2007 interview with Vanity Fair, Kidman revealed that when she first met Urban in 2005 at a “G-Day LA” event honoring Australian artists, she was secretly engaged to someone else. However, only three months after this chance encounter, the two were engaged.

“There was an enormous attraction initially and we got engaged after three months and then we got married quickly, but we didn’t know each other,” the actress recalled in an interview with Metro. “We got to know each other after we got married.

“I believe meeting at a specific age makes a difference. And I believe in my gut instinct. From the moment I met him, I had the impression that, somehow, I had found a home. And he had the same emotion. That was all we had, yet it was the foundation from which we worked. One of the people who played a significant part in Urban’s development was his father, Robert, who died after a struggle with prostate cancer.

In 2018, Urban attended the It’s A Bloke Thing luncheon in Toowoomba to pay tribute to his father and raise awareness. However, when he was photographed by paparazzi at Sydney Airport and the photographs were released, his fans were concerned that the singer was suffering from the condition. He was, however, there to perform at the Prostate Cancer Awareness and Fundraiser.

Unfortunately, additional family members, including Urban’s uncles, suffered from prostate cancer, therefore prostate cancer awareness is a matter very important to his heart. Urban promised to play for free, boosting lunchtime fundraising to a new high of $2,024,000. This demonstrates that Keith Urban is not only an incredible artist, husband, and parent, but also a person with a kind heart.
