Some experiences have a long-term impact on how we feel and perceive reality. Even though these memories are difficult, they let us see the world from a different perspective and teach us valuable lessons. However, there are some stories that we will never forget due to their unusual premise.

Around midnight, I was startled awake by a really loud boom. It sounded like a large, powerful hammer striking a steel pole. The noise caused the furniture in my room to tremble slightly with each subsequent strike. What bothered me the most was that the noise followed a predictable pattern before abruptly becoming entirely silent in the middle of a blow.

I dashed to my parent’s room, but they heard nothing as if everything was in my head. I was bewildered; the noise was so loud that I expected everyone, even the neighbors, to assemble to attempt to figure out where it was coming from. I still don’t comprehend it.
