Nobody sang, “God Bless the USA” better than Lee Greenwood.

The a cappella men of Home Free perform a patriotic rendition of ‘God Bless The USA’ with Lee Greenwood and The United States Air Force Band. Lee Greenwood originally published ‘God Bless the USA’ in 1984. Lee had always wanted to write a patriotic song, and after Korean Air Lines Flight 007 was shot down, he realized the time had come to unite the country.

It climbed to the top of the country charts, but it wasn’t until the 9/11 attacks that the song became a national phenomenon. ‘And I’m pleased to be an American, because at least I know I’m free, and I’ll never forget the soldiers who died to give me that freedom.’

Home Free is an American a cappella group that participated on The Sing-Off’s fourth season, winning it. Home Free has been sharing their unique sound for years, with members Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, and Adam Chance. Today, they will sing ‘God Bless The USA’ alongside famous vocalist Lee Greenwood and The United States Air Force Band.
