She glanced at her daughter and saw terrible cuts on her neck. She couldn’t believe what had happened. Be careful, because it can also happen to your child.

I believe any parent would agree that protecting our children is priority number one, two, three, four, and five from the moment they are born. The thought of our children becoming ill or injured is frequently unbearable, which is why we go to such efforts to keep them safe. Most of us don’t even think about it much; it’s an instinct that kicks in the moment we set eyes on our child.

Unfortunately, the world has different ideas, and even with the strictest due diligence, things can and will unavoidably go wrong. Most parents will be terrified when something happens that they have no control over, especially if it is an accident or ordeal they could not have anticipated. Jackie Fedro has some experience with that. Her daughter’s terrible tragedy occurred in 2016, but we believe it is still relevant today.

According to BuzzFeed, Jackie determined that 2016 would be the year that her 13-year-old daughter Gabbie could receive her own mobile. Gabbie received an LG d500 as a Christmas gift. “One of the reasons we finally gave in and bought her a cell phone is so we can keep in touch with her more with her crazy practice schedule,” Jackie told BuzzFeed.

However, what followed was a nightmare neither of them could have predicted. Gabbie was on her smartphone in her room one day when Jackie heard her cry. “She came running downstairs after it [happened] grabbing her neck,” Jackie said. “She was in so much pain she was screaming hysterically.”It’s the worst feeling in the world as a mother to see your child cry in anguish and not know how to heal her. It took her about five minutes to tell us what had transpired.

Gabbie informed her mother that she had been using her phone while it was plugged into the charger. The 13-year-old experienced an electric shock, and the current ran up the charging cord, through her phone, and into her metal necklace, scorching her neck.Jackie told BuzzFeed that “She suffered painful second-degree burns and now will have a scar all the way around her neck.”

Speaking about the unsettling situation, Jackie asked other parents to consider the dangers of cellphones, which are rarely mentioned or even understood. “With so many kids using phones now days, parents need to be warned about the harm that they can cause,” Jackie stated. How scary! Have you ever heard of anything like this happening before? I surely didn’t.
