Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are selling their storybook Beverly Hills property, but this may not be the final nail in the coffin of their divorce. We reported yesterday that the A-list pair had put their $61 million home up for sale only a year after purchasing it – that story originated with TMZ – and it should come as no surprise that the reason has subsequently been generally understood to be because ‘Bennifer’ is splitting up.

There have been numerous rumors in recent weeks about the harmony – or lack thereof – between Affleck and Lopez, and it has been impossible to draw any conclusion from the data available that implies the couple is dedicated to one another. According to rumors, Affleck has been living in a rental apartment for some time now, having moved out of the mansion he shares with Jennifer Lopez.

Lopez recently canceled her This is Me Now… Live tour in North America to spend more time with her family. Needless to say, the scenario is anything than ideal. However, the prospective sale of their home – TMZ reports that they will lose money on the property if broker fees and their own restoration efforts are added in – may not spell the end of their marriage.

According to PEOPLE Magazine, neither Affleck nor Lopez are thrilled with the house, and both have reasons that are unrelated to their love for each other. Ben never liked the house. “It’s too far away from his kids,” stated a person close to Lopez. Lopez, they stated, “the house is way too big for her.”The 38,000-square-foot property in question is said to have “12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a 12-car garage and a pool, plus a sports complex with basketball and pickleball facilities, a gym, and a boxing ring.”

I’m sure you’ll agree that an idyllic residence does not always equal a happy marriage. With Affleck having moved out – supposedly to film The Accountant 2 – and neither partner directly disputing media claims that their marriage is on the rocks, there’s plenty of room for speculation to develop.
