In 1986, she published her autobiography, “I, Tina.” She described the abuse in detail. “It was my relationship with Ike that made me the most unhappy,” Tina Turner wrote. “At first, I was truly in love with him. Look at what he’s done for me. “But he was completely unpredictable.” “He [Ike] threw hot coffee in my face, giving me third-degree burns,” according to her.
“He used my nose as a punching bag so frequently that I could taste blood flowing down my throat while singing. And he broke my jaw. And I couldn’t recall what it felt like not to have a black eye.”Tina Turner attempted suicide in 1968. She took a large number of tablets, convincing herself that this was her only way out of Ike. “I knew I needed to leave, but I didn’t have any money and had no idea where to start. At my lowest point, I convinced myself that death was the only way out.
Ike Turner passed away on December 17th, 2007. In 1983, he acknowledged to punching Tina. “Years ago, I had a temper. I have no regrets about anything I have ever done. Yes, I hit her, but not to the extent that the ordinary man hits his wife. Tina had a successful career even after Ike died. Her remarkable achievements earned her entry into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. However, her life was far from ideal.
She suffered with her health. Various illnesses. “I know that my medical adventure is far from over,” Turner once wrote. “But I’m still here, and we’re closer than we ever anticipated. I can look back and see why my karma was as it was. Good came from bad. Joy emerged from pain. And I have never been happier than I am today.”
Tina Turner died at 83 years old. She had struggled with high blood pressure for years and was dealing with the consequences of a kidney transplant in 2017. Cher, a musician, said of her friend: “She fought this sickness for such a long time and she was as strong as you would expect, but I know towards the end, she told me once, ‘I’m really ready.'” “I just don’t want to put up with it anymore.”
