Until recently, I had not heard of Oklahoma Nut Candy. The name alone piqued my interest, and after doing some research, I discovered that this sweet has a rich history! It was first published in 1936 in The Daily Oklahoman’s culinary column under the name Aunt Bill’s Brown Candy. From then, it appears to have spread across the nation. People recognize a nice Christmas treat when they taste it! The instructions have changed little throughout the years, but the components have essentially remained consistent. Mainly, a lot of sugar.
