A luxury Parisian hotel was compelled to apologize to Serena Williams and her family after the retired American tennis player was reportedly denied access to the property’s rooftop restaurant. “Yikes @peninsulaparis! I’ve been denied entrance to the rooftop to eat at a finer restaurant that was empty, but never with my children. “Always a first,” Williams posted on X Monday.

Following more than a week of games, Williams attempted to dine at the Peninsula Paris’ rooftop restaurant, which has a view of the Eiffel Tower. However, when she arrived, Williams claimed she and her family were denied admittance despite what she described as a “empty restaurant.” As many fans expressed their support, so did the Peninsula Paris.
“Dear Mrs. Williams. Please accept our deepest apologies for the disappointment you experienced tonight. Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was fully booked, and the only available tables you spotted belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was also fully booked,” the hotel’s statement stated. “We have always been honored to welcome you and will always be to welcome you again,” they told you.

Although Williams has yet to respond, many are confused how to interpret the hotel’s reaction. Some argued, “You make a table for her!” while others believed, “She owes your team an apology.”
