Julie and Andy Kemp, together with their eight-year-old son Landon, were heading home from church when they were involved in an automobile accident. When the tragedy struck, they were hit by an ambulance on its way back to the station. Unfortunately, Andy died at the scene, while Julie struggled to maintain consciousness. When help arrived, they were able to stabilize her, but they were unaware Landon was still in the car.

He was sitting in the backseat, and medics only discovered him after noticing his shoe on the scene. The car was so wrecked that the youngster was obscured from their view. After several attempts, medics were able to resuscitate Landon, who had been found comatose and not breathing. The boy was rushed to the hospital, where he fell away twice more. Things did not look promising for the small kid, and his mother was informed that his chances of survival were limited.

Doctors said that even if the boy lived, he would most likely be unable to live a normal life and would instead be like an infant trapped in the body of an eight-year-old boy. Julie was in excruciating pain for two weeks after the tragedy. She buried her spouse and had to watch her son battle for her life. Landon was in a coma and didn’t look like he’d make it, but suddenly he awoke.

The physicians described his survival as a miracle. They were astounded to discover that, despite everything he had gone through, he had not suffered brain damage. Julie had no idea how to tell Landon about his father now that he was awake. She questioned if he knew what had happened to him, and Landon said, “Yes, I saw him.” He also claimed to have seen one of his father’s friends, who had died a month before his father did.
