I Refused to Cancel My Honeymoon Despite My In-Law’s Tragedy

We had planned our European honeymoon for a year. My in-laws were involved in an automobile accident on their way back from our wedding. They’re alive, but severely injured. My spouse stated he couldn’t simply leave his family in the hospital.

I said, “I am your wife! Take care of me first!” He declined, so I went alone. While there, I was reading through Facebook and was startled to see him upload a fresh photo of himself with a female friend enjoying coffee.

I called him soon away and told him, “It doesn’t appear you’re spending your time at the hospital after all.” He was upset and responded, “This was taken in the hospital cafeteria, and my friend Amy came to my side during this difficult time, unlike you!”

After a 10-day honeymoon, I returned home. When I opened the door, I was startled to see a note on the table that said, “It’s best if we spend some more time apart. It doesn’t appear like you understand the value of family: I’m sad and feel like my marriage was over before it even began, but I still believe he should have joined me on our honeymoon. What shall I do?
