When Simone Biles married NFL quarterback Jonathan Owens in May 2023, she looked lovely in all four of her wedding dresses. However, the pair legally married in a judicial ceremony in Houston, Texas, a month before flying to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for the destination wedding. Simone’s wedding attire was shockingly cheap. She wore a plunging white midi dress with a crisscross back and a tiered frill bodice for their small wedding.

Simone revealed that the dress, which retailed for around $120, was an impulse purchase from the online boutique Selfie Leslie. Simone responded to a fan’s question on her Instagram Story about her wedding dress and shoes, saying, “Courthouse shoes were from Amazon… not comfy at all. “I have stubby toddler feet.” Simone then said that her dress was by Selfie Leslie, and that she had changed into Pretty Little Thing’s strappy white heels for her wedding photos.
She stated, “Everything was ordered this week.” Dress, wedding bands, and shoes. Bouquet. “I am not as prepared for a courthouse ceremony as I am for a large wedding.” The couple’s “big wedding” was an elaborate affair, and Simone looked magnificent in four custom-made gowns by Galia Lahav. “When I started dress shopping, I was like, if I get married, it has to be a Galia Lahav,” the actress told Vogue.

“When I saw the dresses, I thought, ‘This is definitely my style.'” I appreciate the sheer, the way it fits, and the small pearl details—I adore the pearls. If there was anything else I wanted for my wedding, it was flowers and pearls.” Simone looked gorgeous in a white minidress with sparkly accents the night before her wedding. She wore a ballgown silhouette for the ceremony, with a leg-split, flowing box-pleated skirt, 3D floral lace applique, and a sheer corset bodice.
Her wedding gown of choice, however, was not the one she had originally envisioned. “I trusted my instincts and chose what made me feel most beautiful. “I actually got a dress that I had said I wouldn’t like,” she added. “I was nervous about having a ball gown because I’m so petite, but it works perfect.” Simone continued, “The leg slit was quite important. It was intended to give my physique more length.

I believe this is precisely how brides are supposed to feel: rich, beautiful, and on top of the world. Simone changed into a floor-length embroidered dress to dance the night away at the reception, followed by a semi-sheer mermaid gown with floral appliqué. Jonathan was clearly impressed by his bride’s major wedding gown at their seashore wedding.

In one photo, the groom was seen fighting back tears as he watched Simone go down the aisle in front of 140 guests at the Umi Terrace at Nobu Los Cabos. Simone admitted that she was incredibly nervous about her second wedding, despite the fact that the couple later described their ceremony as “dreamy” and “magical.” “I felt nauseous all day, and when it was almost time to walk, my heart was racing out of my chest. I’ve never felt this nervous in my life,” she admitted. “But I felt comfortable walking down the aisle. “Seeing Jonathan at the altar was a dream.”
