Creamy Brazilian Lemonade

There’s no match for the sheer delight of an ice-cold drink on a scorching summer day. The recipe I’m about to share with you is the epitome of refreshment! This Brazilian lemonade is a delightful combination of tangy, smooth, and sugary flavors. Indeed, it is crafted with limes instead of lemons, but according to my findings, it seems to be referred to as lemonade nonetheless!

I understand it can be a bit perplexing. There is a slight variation from the American version where the entire lime, including the peel, is blended. The drink acquires a subtle bitter undertone, which is then harmonized by the addition of sweetened condensed milk. The end product is a refreshing beverage that is ideal for enjoying on a sunny day!

Before you begin, it’s important to thoroughly wash and scrub the limes to ensure we’re using the entire peel. Begin by roughly chopping the limes and adding half of them to your blender. Combine with half the water and sugar. Afterward, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to eliminate any pulp. Continue the process with the remaining limes, and then carefully add the sweetened condensed milk to infuse the drink with its renowned creamy taste. Feel free to adjust the amount of milk to suit your taste.

Enjoy the limeade over ice for a refreshing and smooth delight. This beverage is ideal for a summer BBQ, pool party, or a casual afternoon indulgence. Why not give this a try the next time you want to switch things up? I’m confident it will become a new favorite.
