My father reared me on his own. When I had my first period, I was embarrassed and did not tell him. He figured it out and attempted to speak with me, but I shut down, too shy to address it with him.

Then he accomplished something incredible. One day, I came into the restroom and found a chocolate bar and a pack of pads waiting for me. There was also a note from him that said, “This is natural, so don’t be embarrassed. I’m still your father, and you’re still my little daughter, no matter how old you are.”

I cried for nearly ten minutes. Most of us have vivid recollections from childhood. However, in addition to the happy recollections, there are some that send shivers down our spines.
