Security camera footage showed the moment Gatubela, a Siamese cat, rescued a one-year-old baby named Samuel Leon. The incident occurred on October 31 in Bogota, Colombia. It started with the cat sitting on the sofa, looking down at Samuel, who was crawling on the floor. He couldn’t walk yet, so Gatubela easily passed him.

A bright crib stood in the center of the room, but Samuel was not in it. He was investigating the area and was very intrigued about his surroundings. Gatubela followed Samuel about wherever he went. She was a perceptive cat who understood that inquisitiveness may be dangerous, particularly for someone so young.

A door in one corner of the room led down a flight of stairs that the camera couldn’t see. Samuel started crawling towards the door.Gatubela noticed Samuel’s direction and acted fast. She first tried to take him by the nape of his neck, as if she were picking up a kitten.

When Gatubela noticed Samuel wasn’t a kitten, she moved in front of him, pushing him back. She positioned herself in front of the entrance to prevent Samuel from falling down the steps.
