My 9-year-old child and I attended a swimming class. The session was one-on-one between a child, an adult, and an instructor. The moms were all wearing swim shorts and shirts, the dads were wearing trunks, and I was in a two-piece swimsuit.

During class, one of the students pointed at me and began to cry. A couple parents approached me and asked if I could wear something “less revealing” next time.
When I questioned why, they said eleven. No one wants to see your stomach, and your stretch marks scare our children.
It was a devastating blow to my confidence. We left early because I couldn’t take the looks. My child enjoys swimming sessions, but I do not want to return.
