Shock and Surprise: A Discovery in My Husband’s Drawer

My heart stopped as I opened my husband’s drawer the day after moving in. Eleanor’s wedding to George was reminiscent of a movie. Everything was beautiful, including the venue, gown, and reception. The day exceeded all of her expectations. She knew he was the one from the moment she lay eyes on him, and it wasn’t long before he proposed. She enthusiastically accepted his marriage proposal.

Eleanor believed George rushed their relationship, but she was persuaded he did so because he loved her as much as she did him. After the wedding, Eleanor moved in with George and his family. He, his parents, and his younger siblings lived in a magnificent mansion with several rooms and a large yard full of flowers. Life felt terrific. Eleanor awoke early on the first morning in her new house to prepare breakfast for the family.

She entered the kitchen and requested assistance from Tina, the maid, in gathering all of the necessary items. Tina, on the other hand, did not come off as a nice lady. She pulled some eggs from the fridge and handed them to Eleanor, instructing her to hurry up with the breakfast because the family expected it ready when they arrived downstairs.Eleanor was bothered by Tina’s performance. It was clear she didn’t like her, but Eleanor didn’t care since, whatever the maid thought of her, she was here to stay.

Eleanor rushed for her phone, but it was not on the kitchen counter where she had left it. When she questioned Tina if she’d seen it, she claimed no and departed the kitchen.Tina’s behavior was unusual, and it grew more stranger when Eleanor discovered her phone on the seat where Tina was sitting. When she took it, she saw a message on the screen saying, “Check your husband’s drawer.” The upper left one, especially. “Then run!”

Eleanor’s heart began beating. Was George holding a secret from her?She initially ignored Tina’s warning and continued preparing breakfast, but when the entire family had arrived downstairs and begun eating, she returned to the room and unlocked the drawer. Inside, there was a stack of letters. George wrote them all to someone named Elena. It was clear she was someone he was madly in love with, as each of the words put in them spoke volumes about his feelings for her.

What was particularly weird was that the last letter was sent shortly after he and Eleanor began dating. Under the stack of letters was an ultrasound image. Was she expecting George’s child? Eleanor went through a whirlwind of emotions. Tina’s voice came to her as she was trying to gather her thoughts. “Eleanor, I thought you deserved to know the truth,” she added softly. “Elena is my sister.” She and George met two years ago, when we were contracted to clean this house.

George apparently fell in love with Elena from the moment he met her, and the two began dating. He intended to marry her and build a life with her, but everything changed when he discovered the kid she was carrying had Down Syndrome. He terminated all relations with her after that. Elena didn’t want anything from George; she only wanted his wife to see who he was, so she requested Tina to deliver the letters to Eleanor.

Eleanor, devastated and heartbroken, walked to the kitchen and informed George’s parents about his child, wondering whether they were aware they had a grandson. His parents were startled. They had no idea George was seeing someone or that she had given birth to a child with Down Syndrome. They needed time to comprehend the information because they had been completely stunned by the finding and their son’s decision to forsake Elena and his child.

Eleanor moved home with her sister the next day, and after a few weeks, she learned that George’s parents had disowned him. They got in touch with Elena and met their grandchildren. Most importantly, they left him without money and shifted his inheritance to assist Elena and her baby. Eleanor, who divorced George, also received assets from her former in-laws.
