I had to connect to another flight. At the check-in desk about an hour before the flight, a bigger passenger INSISTED he wanted to buy a second seat to make sure he was comfy. The woman at the desk told him nicely that he wouldn’t have to and that there would be plenty of room on the plane.

The passenger is firm and tells her to sell him an extra seat next to the one he is already sitting in. She gives him what he wants and sells him a second seat for more than $200. When I get to the gate, I see that this man is on our flight. We were one of the last people at the gate, so there was no need to wait. We went straight to the plane, and the gate closed after about five more people.
